Saturday was filled with lots of special things. K and I made chocolate chip cookies. And then we all watched the movie, "My Neighbor Totoro." Mr. Bobbinoggin's work week is abnormal. So... we have decided to rest (since we don't get a nonworking Sabbath) on a different day. On this particular day, we chose to visit Hells Gate State Park. Our local building supply store had a fun gardening activity for the kids. Each child planted a flower and painted a terra-cotta pot for Mother's Day. The Bud was playing in his sister's room.When I decided to check on him...I found a proud little boy who thought himself oh so big. I still have no clue how he got there. A Walk to shore from the vacation house. I fell in love with the homes in this neighborhood and had to take a few pictures. Sadly, most of my pictures were out-of-focus. Considering K's fear of the waves, we thought it a nice compromise to find a fresh water stream for her to play in. She even made a  friend! They began a project to help the stream reach the ocean. The Bud had two firsts: the ocean AND sand. I forgot his swimming trunks at the house.  He didn't seem to mind. It's a buried Bud. K ventured toward the shore with the Bud. Way to go

Here you can see how fascinated K was with the waves on our first evening. This was as close as we ever saw her get. The next morning and thereafter, she kept to the rock wall. We think she must have had a bad dream on her first night. I'm glad we caught her initial excitement. She was so amazed and excited. to be continued.
